You may submit your song(s) to the Pros for their consideration and they will decide whether or not they believe your song is competitive enough for them to pitch it. For each song submitted through the Pitch to Pro Pipeline, you will receive a feedback sheet from the Pro as to the competitiveness of your song. This is not an in-depth evaluation, but rather a simple critique where the Pro will indicate whether or not they wish to pitch your song (and if not, why).

No. Songs do not need to be professional full-band demos in order to be considered. Guitar/vocals and piano/vocals work just fine! The important thing is that you submit a demo that clearly delivers your song. The lyrics should be easily understandable with a clear melody.

Response time varies with each Pro and it can also depend on how busy they are at that particular time. I do my best to return the feedback sheets to the writers within 7-10 business days. If it’s been longer than 14 days and you still haven’t heard anything, always feel free to check in with me!

Unfortunately, no. I just don’t have the time to pre-screen all the songs that come in to the different SongTuner Pros. I try to provide details on what each of the Pros is looking for through my email blasts! If you want to submit a song to a Pro that’s looking for a particular artist, it’s always a good idea to study the artist as well as the songs they’ve cut in the past. If you’re not sure your song is competitive enough, you may schedule a mentoring session through the website and we can go over your song(s). Also, you may always send it in to me for an evaluation!

You can sign up to be added to the SongTuner’s mailing list. I regularly send out email blasts that provide updates on the different song needs for the song pluggers, publishers and producers on the Pitch to Pro Pipeline. I try to provide details on what the Pros are needing based on the artists they are looking for and/or projects that they are working on at that time.

All evaluations are done by me personally! I always try to get to the songs within 2-5 working days at the most. If for some reason I know that it will take longer than that, I will usually notify the writer.

Unless I tell you to send the re-write directly to me on your evaluation sheet, you will need to resubmit it through the website. Sometimes an evaluation for a re-write takes more work than a regular one because there is a lot of “back and forth” between the original lyric and the new one. If you are only a line-tweak or two away from being finished, I will usually tell you that!

Yes and yes! Most of the work for me is in evaluating the lyrics.

No. Unfortunately, I do not put music to writers’ lyrics anymore. However, I can refer you to a few people that will do “work for hire” melodies!

Yes. This is a separate service. If you decide that you would like to pitch your song, you can visit the Pitch to Pro Pipeline on the website! There you will find a group of different publishers, song pluggers and producers as well as the cost to submit songs to them.
